Before Christmas, our committee ran a wonderful festive fundraiser where participants created their Christmas centrepieces.
Donna of Blooming Lovely Hinkley, a local florist based in the town centre donated her time to the event and led the workshop. She said,
“I am so proud to work alongside Hinckley Pride in hosting this event. Their work impacts our community, and I support them every step of the way!”
Donna taught our budding florists the basics of how to build and craft the perfect centrepiece.
The event was hosted in one of Hinckley’s newest cafes, Addylline Cafe, situated on the Borough in the town centre. The small team make a bold impact with an incredible line up of homemade cakes and bakes.
To finish off the evening, live entertainment was provided by Hinckley Pride’s very own Charlotte Davis. Charlotte, one of our committee members, was a former professional singer and dancer before moving into teaching. Returning to the mic came as natural to Charlotte as riding a bike, made even more impressive being over 7 months pregnant.
Charlotte adds;
“I am so honoured to sing at this event. The work the committee are doing to fundraise for Pride 2023 is beyond impressive. All I am doing is playing my part in such a wonderful organisation and having fun at the same time!"
With the support of a raffle, the event raised just over £530 for Pride 2023. Thanks to all those who attended, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
